Master´s programme in Geographical Information Systems
The LUMA-GIS program provides the student with comprehensive skills and understanding in GIS theories and analyses. The student will gain a critical view of geographical data regarding precision and quality, and treats both theoretical and practical aspects in digital geographical analyses. The first part of the program (first semester for fulltime studies) consists of three compulsive modules providing a theoretical and practical base for the usage of GIS regarding analysis and focuses on managing geographical databases and implementation of GIS in organizations. Doctoral Students in Automatic Control
Lund University is Scandinavia’s largest institution for education and research in a great number of disciplines, such as engineering, natural sciences, law, social science, economics, medicine, theology and the arts. The University has over 38 000 students and approximately 5 300 employees located in Lund, Malmö and Helsingborg. We have a comprehensive global network and a growing co-operation within the Öresund University framework within Southern Sweden and Eastern Denmark.
LTH forms the Faculty of Engineering at Lund University, with approximately 6 500 students and 850 PhD-students. The research carried out at LTH is of high international standard and we continuously develop our teaching and adapt our courses to the needs of today.

The positions will be tied to upcoming research projects at the department.
Eligibility
Employment as a Doctoral student can only be granted if you have been accepted to the postgraduate student program. Acceptance to the postgraduate student program is based on the estimated ability to perform well in your postgraduate studies. This is also one of the basic criteria for employment. Furthermore you need a valid university degree at advanced level (MSc) within a relevant study program.
Selection
The selection of applicants will be based on an assessment of the ability of the applicant to benefit from their studies. The applicant’s ability to benefit from their studies will be judged mainly on their academic results at undergraduate (BSc) and advanced (MSc) level.
The Doctoral student positions is mainly devoted to the postgraduate studies (80% of the time), but includes 20% department service, usually teaching. Most of the teaching at Automatic Control, LTH is performed using the Swedish language. This significantly limits the funds for students who do not speak Swedish.
Rules for employment as a Doctoral student is stated in "The Higher Education Ordinance (SFS 1998:80), Chapter 5".
Lund University encourages especially women to apply for the position.
Salary is determined within certain guidelines for this type of position.

Our MBA programme gives you the opportunity to add managerial competence to your previous academic background.
